If I could give Hoffmann Hospice 10 stars I would. This place is outstanding. From the initial phone call meeting, to the home meeting a few hours later, to the nurses and case manager arriving at our home, to the staff at the Facility…This place is beautiful inside and out. They care about the needs of your loved one, and are compassionate to the needs of the family members. My mother was suffering in pain and was placed in Hoffmann Hospice to get her pain under control and they took very mild steps to escalate the pain meds till where my mother was under no more pain. The Health Aides are beautiful people…the LVN’s are beautiful people…the RN’s are beautiful people…the Doctors are beautiful people. The administration team was outstanding from every aspect. My mother is a true fighter and fought hard till the very end, but god finally took my mother’s pain away. I want to Thank you all at Hoffmann Hospice for the greatest treatment for me and my family. I 100% recommend you use Hoffmann Hospice and wouldn’t think twice about it. A very special thanks to Darcie. Thank you Darcie for contacting my sister and talking to her about the services you offer and the what hospice truly is. People do have the misconception of Hospice is & we thank you for that. You educated us, and in turn we are educating our friends and family too. God Bless you all and keep up the tremendous work. Please thank each staff member that sat with my mother, talked with my mother, bathed my mother, gave medications to my mother, and treated my mother. My mom is in a better place now and they made the transition to there a whole lot easier and nicer.

I am very pleased with Hoffman hospice. The staff was amazing the facility was the best I’ve ever seen it was like a five-star hotel. Very impressed!

When my auntie was in her final days she was placed at Hoffmann Hospice and the care and support that was given was amazing. The staff were kind and very understanding. The atmosphere was “gentle”. The whole family was able to be there to visit, gather and support one another during that very difficult time. Hoffmann Hospice is amazing and I am glad they are a resource for families in Kern County.

I have the complete honor of having my clinical rotation at Hoffmann Home. At first I wasn’t sure I would like it. Working so long in EMS I never thought I’d enjoy the end of life side. The staff and the residents have changed my mind wholeheartedly. It’s not at all what one would think of when they think of hospice. Don’t get me wrong Hospice is an amazing service and well needed, just from the EMS standpoint we’re “rivals”, for lack of a better word. But the sincerity and the absolute selflessness and love in the building by ever single staff member from housekeeping to the owners, whom by the way their office is with everyone else and they too are an active part of this organization. Is mind blowing and has changed my mind completely, to the point I will be applying for a position upon graduation, perhaps sooner if they’ll allow it.

I don’t know where to even start but with how thankful our family was with the care our sister was given in her final days by all the many Angels at the Hoffmann House. From the first day Stacey came to the hospital to walk us through their program to all the Nurses, Caregivers and other team members that were with us in her final days at Hoffmann House. Every Hoffmann Angel (which is how we saw this incredible team) all became a part of our family. Thank you Hoffmann Angels for all you do the world needs more of you.

Although we did not end up using Hoffmann, we so appreciate the time and effort extended by Tiffany to help us with a very difficult placement decision during Covid times. Many thanks!

When my dad passed in 2010 we were told what hospice was coming. I couldn’t have picked a better one. They were amazing. In 2018 my husband was told he was dying and had to pick a hospice. At the same time we said Hoffman. Again they were our families angel in disguise, I will forever be grateful and Angela, his nurse really deserves recognition for her work. My husband was not the easiest but she made it seem that way.. thank you

The death of my husband was very much unexpected, and we were going through all the things leading up to it during the virus restrictions. When a series of medical mistakes in rapid succession had me facing that Steve was at end of life they provided a caring and nurturing environment for his last few days. There were no rules for visiting, and along with the efforts they made to ensure Steve was able to pass in comfort and in peace the staff was also tremendously supportive and wonderful with myself and the rest of our family. Because of the timing we weren’t able to use their in-home services, but based on the experience I had with Hoffman Hospice Home on Buena Vista I can promise they’ll do everything they can to help both you and your loved one in any way they can.

Highly recommended! I want to thank all the nurses, the social workers and case workers. My Dad passed at home 9-9-2020, where he wanted to be, under Hoffman’s hospice care, in a very peaceful manner. Their compassion and dedication to their jobs is remarkable.

I can’t think of one instance that the staff was slow to respond or no help when I or my husband had questions. The nurses, office staff, delivery people were all great. They made a bad time bearable.

My mother passed away Sunday. The persons taking care of her are remarkable. They were friendly to the family and always available to answer any questions. I cannot recommend Hoffmann enough. My mother was very fortunate to be there.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this hospice. The staff was so nice and helpful there. They let us have as much family members as we wanted and as long as we wanted. Every time it was a different nurse that came and served my grandmother, they all were nice and helpful. They also have a theater room which is neat. Oh and free WiFi as well. Overall it was a comfortable stay in these tough times. Thank you Hoffmann Hospice.

We just recently lost our mom, we were blessed beyond to have had the kind and wonderful experience of Hoffmann Hospice. Words cannot express the gratitude we have for you. You folks are Amazing! Thank you and God Bless.

After 4 months of fighting Cancer my dad was ready to stop being in pain. When i called for information they were able to meet us at home the very next day. They were so compassionate and very informative. They answered all our questions, let us cry to them about our struggles, and didn’t pressure us for a decision just let us know they were there for us when we were ready. The next day my dad was ready to go to hospice and they got him checked in. Watching some one you love be in that much pain is hard and so scary. All the staff from the nurses to the clerks were all so gracious and sensitive to the situation. Our nurse Chris & Anna who spent the most time with my dad were very helpful with answering all our what if’s and helping us cope with what was happening. After a week on hospice my dad passed away but through out it all they did absolutely everything they could to keep him and us his family as comfortable as possible. They showed so much love and compassion for us. To these amazing souls this is not just a job. They have a gift.

I thought when i walked out of their facility that night that was it. Well boy was I wrong. In the past two weeks since my dad has passed they have continued to show our family so much support. We have received follow up calls, letters, and hand written cards checking on us to make sure we are all ok and if we need grief support they are their for us. The level of care and attention to detail wrapped in love in compassion is something we will never forget. Thank you Hoffman Hospice for making our burden lighter, we appreciate you so much!!!!

I’ve used their services 2x now. Once for my dad (2010) and recently for my husband (2018). When we knew my husband was terminal, it wasn’t even a question who we’d call we both said Hoffmann. the nurse with my dad was amazing hands down amazing. With my husband, Angela his nurse was truly a blessing to all of us. She was amazing with our 5 kids, with me and my husband. He could be stubborn at times. But something about her, he would listen to what ever she said. The day before he passed he even thanked her and hugged her. She is an angel! Thank you Hoffmann!

I used Hoffman hospice when my father was in his last months of life. Colleen was one of his nurses and she absolutely did a wonderful job. He smiled when she came and her care and compassion was above anything I expected. We were called when he reached a critical point and were told he had reached his final hours. I cannot compliment enough the care he received. Most helpful compassionate people in this world.

My father was in the hospital for several days and was put on Hospice care. He was moved to the Hoffman Hospice Home for his final days. The facility is beautiful, peaceful, and the suites make it a very private place for family members to be with their loved one. The staff were so helpful and kept me informed of his condition. They treated my dad with dignity, care, and respect from the minute we arrived until he passed. The private patio is a nice place to sit for a while, the fold out bed was appreciated, and Mary’s cooking was so nice to not have to leave to get a meal. This facility is truly a gift to those going through this difficult process. Thank you for all you did.

Our mom lived life to the fullest. She had six children, and taught kindergarten for 25 years. At 92, it became apparent that the end of life was near. Her regular doctor recommended hospice care. We chose Hoffmann Hospice in Bakersfield, California. We, her children, were astounded by the number of people who cared for my mother the last six weeks of her life. Doctor Shannon Smith was her assigned doctor. Lori and Daisy were the nurses in charge of her medications. She had a social worker, a chaplain, bathers, and volunteer helpers who came and kept her company when family members needed breaks. Our main concerns were that she not be afraid or in pain. She was so well cared for that none of us believe she knew she was dying. Everyone who entered her apartment to check her vital sign or to administer medication did so quietly and with as little disruption as possible. What a relief that she didn’t suffer! Our sincere appreciation to Hoffmann Hospice for our mom’s empathetic care.
