Dedicated to Comforting the Grieving in Our Community

Grief is not limited to feelings of sadness. It can involve guilt, yearning, anger and regret. People in grief can bounce between different feelings as they make sense of their loss.

Missing A Piece of My Heart is a 10-week group specially designed for loss due to substance abuse. The group meets in person at the Hoffmann Hospice Grief Support Center.

The next Missing A Piece of My Heart group will start Wednesday, June 14th at 10:30 am – 11:30 am.

Please contact Ryan at (661) 410-1010 to learn more and register.

Do you feel like you need to hide your grief? Do you feel uncomfortable talking about grief? Wondering if you will ever get over your sadness?

Responding to your loss during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Are you grieving the loss of a loved one or looking to support someone that has lost a loved one during the pandemic? The Funeral Service Foundation funded a guide called “Grieving Alone Together”. This guide addresses the challenges of grieving a loved one’s death during the COVID-19 pandemic, including the nature of grief; traumatic loss and its triggers; ambiguous losses; and the risk of disenfranchised grief. It also addresses the importance of talking to children about death and memorialization and the difficulties of being separated from a loved one at the time of their death.

“Grieving Alone Together” is available as a free resource in English and Spanish. The guide offers guidance on how families can meaningfully celebrate the life of their loved one and discusses the importance of maintaining your health while grieving.

Navigating Children's Grief During Uncertain Times

“Navigating Children’s Grief during Uncertain Times,” hosted by Ms. Sarah Hopkins, MSW, discusses how to support children ages 6-12 years old through losses that they may be facing due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
